Clair Davies
Registered Provisional Psychologist
Clair Davies is a Registered Provisional Psychologist; her scope of practice is clinical/counselling psychology. She works with various issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma and PTSD, grief and loss, life transitions, chronic illness, relationship issues, coping skills, addiction, anger management, self-esteem, stress, women’s issues, and men’s issues. Clair also provides psychedelic integration therapy. She provides intake assessments for: general mental health concerns, ADHD, TMS, and Ketamine treatment.
Clair’s approach to counselling is client-centred and collaborative. She employs a trauma-informed lens that is attachment-based. She utilizes evidence-based approaches, including narrative, solution-focused, attachment-based, somatic, trauma-informed, and cognitive-behavioural therapy. Clair approaches all her clients with a gentle, open, and compassionate manner. Her strength is building connections with clients and working alongside them to achieve their goals.
Clair holds a Master of Counselling Degree from City University of Seattle, and a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Grant MacEwan University. As a social worker, Clair has worked in an in-patient hospital and community-based medical and mental health settings. Her social work background enables her to approach client care with a holistic understanding of factors that impact the individuals she works with. As part of her counselling experience, Clair provided services at City University of Seattle's virtual clinic that allowed her to work with isolated populations during the pandemic. Clair brings a wealth of experience working with diverse populations with various mental health concerns.
Additionally, Clair Davies has completed an EMDRIA approved EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) training program and is now capable of providing EMDR therapy to clients. This unique method of psychotherapy is effective in treating symptoms of trauma and PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) as it helps individuals process distressing memories and reduce their long-term effects. This newly acquired proficiency further expands her skillset, reinforcing her commitment to offering versatile, evidence-based modalities to aid her clients in their mental health journeys.
In her spare time, Clair enjoys being in nature, volunteering, reading, yoga, art, and spending time with family and friends.
